That film!

I've been having a love affair with Ilford Delta 3200. It collects light in a very special way. I like shooting my home on this film. It always seems to bring out something true that maybe I didn't see before.

(More 3200? All of the shots in this post were taken on this film, as were the two black and white photos in this post. My full set of Ilford Delta 3200 photos is here.)

Happy, happy

Our small friend Mia and my mom share a birthday: June 15. Mia turned six this year, and my mom turned a number just a little bit bigger than that. We celebrated the both of them with a strawberry custard cassata cake.

(I've tagged this post "film," but the second and third shots are digital.)

30.

For my thirtieth birthday last month, Eli gave me a Hasselblad. Just typing that makes me stop and blink because I still can't believe it. It's a whole lot of camera. Hopefully, I'll grow into it.

Here are a few shots from my first roll. I'm fond of that last one.

The Reporter

I've been quite inspired by my friend, Stephanie's peel-apart Polaroid shots. So when I saw an old Polaroid Reporter in a shop when I was home in Ohio last month, I snagged it. I have a lot to learn about how to focus the thing and estimate the right exposure, but I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Hey, summer!

Hey, summer! Thanks for rolling in a little early this year. Memorial Day weekend wouldn't have been the same without you. We spent the holiday weekend with my family in Ohio. These shots are from my first roll of Kodak Elite Chrome 100. It will not be my last. I love the way this film captures the early-evening light and brings out those beautiful blues.
